Our Brand Story
What began as Oak Collection in 2022 was born from a love of natural materials, artisan craftsmanship, and timeless design.
Our debut range featured handlooms, Dumbara weaving, and elegant linens — all ethically sourced from Sri Lanka and crafted into beautiful pillow covers we first offered in Australia.
Each of our pillow covers is designed in-house, with care, intention, and love poured into every detail. From the beginning, we’ve taken the time to connect personally with artisans, building meaningful relationships that honour tradition and bring soul to every piece we create.
As our style evolved, some original pieces were retired; however, a few, such as our signature Kuku and Pali pillow covers, remain timeless staples that continue to define our core collection.
n 2024, we welcomed our daughter and relocated unexpectedly to Sri Lanka, opening the door to a fresh, creative chapter. With this, we began transitioning from Oak Collection to Pasqual McDermott, a name that reflects our roots and growing vision.
A recent trip to India inspired our upcoming Kalamkari collection, based on a 3,000-year-old textile tradition. Currently in development, this capsule is designed to complement our signature handloom pieces.
And now, we have again relocated to the United States.
For the first time, we’re proud to offer our range to our community, globally inspired, ethically made textiles that tell a story with every piece.
You may still see the Oak Collection label on our current stock, and that’s part of our story. While our name is evolving to Pasqual McDermott, our commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and soulful design remains unchanged.
All new releases will reflect the new name. Thank you for joining us on this exciting path forward.
With love,
Onali McDermott
